But as you all know… Covid happened and we didn’t have much choice but to start our homeschooling journey.
And guess what happened? I do not want to bring them back to regular school. I enjoyed it so much I feel like I want to do it long term (as of today haha)
If you are new to homeschooling, I’d like to share with you some of the things I learned this past year:
2. Attitude first before knowledge. I heard about this a lot before but didn’t really appreciate it until I experienced it first hand. Just recently, my daughter and my son had a fight early in the morning. I just got up and I’m faced with 2 crying kids! Not a good start. After we all (including me) calmed down, I asked my daughter if there was anything she wanted to say. She smiled and said, “I’m happy. I remembered our lesson in Sunday School. To take care of our relationship. So, I chose to forgive Bok.” Boy, did I cry!!! #preciousmoments
3. I love my kids. Not that I didn’t know I love them before but being around them longer and really spending time with them made me realize how much I REALLY LOVE THEM. And I will not trade this for anything!
This year, we are embarking on a new journey with Archers Homeschooling Academy. We are pretty excited because we believe so much in their vision: to empower families thrive in life through parent-led and home-based Christian education. Plus they have full support specially for first time homeschooling parents. They have Monthly Parent and Student Trainings, Support Group, Academic Support and of course they are DepEd Accredited.
